Voices of Women: Women’s Advocacy Day 2019 Preview

YWCA Executive Director Gail Fortes discusses Women’s Advocacy Day, which is hosted by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women each May at the State House. Gail is joined by Val Bassett, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Southeastern MA; Jordan Latham, Director of Advocacy & Resource Development at YWCA SEMA; and Erica Scott-Pacheco, Director of Development of South Coastal Counties Legal Services, Inc. Together, they discuss our regional legislative priorities to be discussed at Women’s Advocacy Day:

1. Universal Childcare / Affordable and Accessible High-Quality Childcare
2. An Act to Increase Access to Disposable Menstrual Products in Prisons, Homeless Shelters, and Public Schools
3. An Act Supporting Working Parents Who Choose to Run for Public Office
