Voices of Women: The Human Rights at Home Clinic at UMassD School of Law

YWCA Executive Director Gail Fortes discusses the Human Rights at Home Clinic at UMass Dartmouth School of Law with Professor Margaret Drew, the UMass Dartmouth Law Director of Clinical Programs, Peter Christopher and Mali Lam, both third-year Law Students, and Ayesha Malik, a second-year Law Student.

The Human Rights at Home Clinic focuses on securing fundamental human rights for individuals with limited means within the United States. Viewing unmet needs through the lens of human rights advocacy shifts the perspective from creating a right (such as the right to safety or education) to advocating because fundamental rights are inherent in all human beings.
