Which Stand Against Racism Event Will You Attend?
YWCA Stand Against Racism Week is coming soon. Here is a chance for you to take a stand against all acts of racism locally and nationally. The YWCA has three free events for Stand Against Racism. Hope you can participate in any or all events.
Stand Against Racism is a signature campaign of YWCA USA to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities. This campaign is one part of our larger national strategy to fulfill our mission of eliminating racism.
Stand Against Racism at UMASS Dartmouth on April 24th at 10am:
Stop by our information stand in the campus center and sign a pledge against Racism.
Unlearning Racism Workshop on Tuesday, April 25th at 6pm at the YWCA: Designed for participants to discover conscious and unconscious ways that racism has impacted their lives, this workshop fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of differences, challenging the status quo, the effects of racism and stereotypes fueled by historical events and past perceptions.
Stand Against Racism Open Mic Night on Friday, April 28th at 6pm at the Unitarian Church:
Come share your poetry, songs, stories and spoken word!
Anyone can participate in Stand Against Racism. Your Stand can be any size, take place anywhere and even be a private event at your home.
