Join women from the commonwealth and Action for Women of Southeastern Massachusetts (AWSM) for Women’s Advocacy Day on May 17, 2017, hosted by The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW). You will have the opportunity to speak with legislators about issues that affect you, your family and community. Also, there will be a chance to learn about the (MCSW) legislative progress and legislative priorities including: insurance coverage of contraceptives, equality in disability insurance, paid family medical leave and more. Elected officials will be discussing the status of women’s equality and opportunities in Massachusetts.
This is a free event and the YWCA will be providing free transportation to Boston. Please reserve your seat as soon as possible as space is limited. The bus will be picking people up here at the YWCA, located at 20 So. Sixth St, New Bedford MA. The Bus will DEPART at 8:00 AM and return around 4:00PM.
